Tami Davis Preece

Head of Audit and Assurance Services and Quality Management Systems Partner

Experience

Tami joined Blazek & Vetterling in 2004 and became a partner of the firm in 2017.

Prior to joining Blazek & Vetterling, she worked exclusively with state and local governments as the sole proprietor of an accounting and auditing practice. She also served as Controller of a construction company for approximately four years and was responsible for accounting, financial reporting, variance analysis, job costing and project reporting. Since joining Blazek & Vetterling, she has continued providing services to local governments and expanding her knowledge of not-for-profit organizations.

Tami has significant single audit experience and is one of our designated specialists in that area. She is an expert on compliance requirements of federal funding, such as eligibility, allowable costs, procurement, and administrative requirements. She has served as an instructor for our inhouse continuing professional education courses on single audits and government auditing standards.

She is very interested in audit standards and the quality of assurance engagements performed by the public accounting professional. This interest has driven her to become a peer reviewer of other public accounting firms.

Tami volunteers as a member of the TXCPA Leadership Council and the finance committee and board of directors of the Houston Chapter of TXCPA. She is also a member of the TXCPA peer review committee and sits on the state’s peer review report acceptance body.
